For years, FireRoofs has helped homeowners in wildfire country add a serious layer of exterior defense. Today we are introducing the next chapter: IMBER™, a smart controller designed from the ground up to run your exterior fire sprinklers on its own when it matters most.

Wildfires do not wait for business hours. They move at night, during evacuations, and when you are hundreds of miles away. IMBER was built for exactly those moments. It brings together fire awareness, decision making and sprinkler control in one weatherproof unit with its own touchscreen that lives on your property and keeps watch around the clock.

Detect · Decide · Defend

01

Detect

Dual wildfire detection pairs SKYRIDGE™ regional satellite wildfire monitoring with cameras with intelligent fire detection on your own property. The cameras watch for every sign of wildfire they can see, from a smoke plume on a distant ridge to embers drifting through the air.

02

Decide

IMBER weighs what it sees and chooses a response matched to the threat, so your system is never guessing and never overreacting.

03

Defend

Exterior fire sprinklers wet your roof, eaves and surroundings, with protection that steps up as a fire gets closer.

A smarter way to defend

Most exterior sprinkler systems are simple. Someone has to notice the fire, decide it is time, and turn the water on. IMBER changes that. It keeps an eye on fire activity in your region and on your own property, then responds on its own in clear, measured stages.

Dual wildfire detection

Eyes on your property, day and night

Satellites see fires across the region. Cameras with intelligent fire detection see what is happening around your home. Together they give IMBER the full picture.

The cameras look out at the landscape around your property and watch for anything related to wildfire:

  • Smoke in the distance

A smoke plume rising from a ridge or treeline, well before the fire is close.

  • Glow at night

An orange glow on a hillside after dark.

  • Flames

Fire on a distant slope, or a fire front moving toward your home.

  • Heavy smoke

Thick smoke rolling in close to the property.

  • Embers in the air

Glowing embers and firebrands drifting toward your home. Embers are one of the most common ways homes catch fire during a wildfire, often well ahead of the flames.

Every sign the cameras see is checked and weighed by IMBER. It is also built to ignore the things that fool simpler systems, like sunsets, fog, porch lights, a backyard fire pit or a neighbor's chimney.

IMBER then matches its response to the threat. When a fire is far off, IMBER stays alert and keeps you informed. As the danger grows, IMBER begins wetting your home and the area around it. If embers or flames come close, it moves to its strongest defense. The goal is simple: put water where it counts, at the right time, without wasting it.

Built for the worst day

The day a fire comes is the day everything else starts to fail. Power flickers. Cell service gets overloaded. Roads close. IMBER is designed with that day in mind.

  • Holds the line if the connection drops. Once IMBER starts defending your home, it keeps its defense running even if the internet goes down during the fire.
  • Smart about water. Where a pool or storage tank is part of your system, IMBER can switch to it if your normal supply runs low.
  • A manual emergency button. You or a trusted neighbor can start your sprinklers by hand at the unit, any time.
  • A touchscreen right on the unit. IMBER's built-in touchscreen shows your system's status, active alerts and the live fire map at a glance, with no phone needed.
  • Watches itself. IMBER keeps tabs on its own health and lets you know if something needs attention, long before fire season.

Frequently asked questions

What is IMBER?

IMBER™ is FireRoofs' new smart controller for exterior fire sprinklers. It combines wildfire awareness, decision making and sprinkler control so your system can respond on its own.

What can the cameras see?

The cameras watch for the signs of a wildfire around your home: smoke plumes in the distance, an orange glow on a hillside at night, flames, heavy smoke and embers in the air. IMBER checks each sign and responds based on the threat.

Will a sunset or a fire pit set it off?

IMBER is built to tell a wildfire apart from everyday look-alikes such as sunsets, fog, porch lights, fire pits and chimney smoke.

Does IMBER have a screen?

Yes. IMBER has a built-in touchscreen on the front of the unit, so you can check your system's status and see what is happening without your phone.

Do I need to be home for IMBER to work?

No. IMBER is designed to act automatically, whether you are home, at work or evacuated. You will get alerts in the FireRoofs app and can stop or start watering from anywhere.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Once IMBER starts defending your home, it keeps its defense running even if the connection drops during the fire. You can also start your sprinklers by hand at the unit with the manual emergency button.

Can I upgrade my existing FireRoofs system?

Yes. IMBER was designed with existing clients in mind, and our team will share upgrade options as it becomes available.

When will IMBER be available?

IMBER is in final testing now. Request a private consultation to be among the first to hear when it is ready for your home.
